Funny personality types

By: Patricia Oelze. Have you ever had a friend or family member that had a very dark sense of humor? How different this person's perspective must be from your parent or grandparent who seemed to have a very safe and cute type of humor. Maybe you've even known a few people who have little to no sense of humor, or if they do say something funny, it's usually very obvious, very down to earth. Who's to say what makes something funny? What accounts for the success of certain comedians, while others struggle for recognition?

An even more interesting question is, "What does your sense of humor say about you? Yes, and according to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicatorour views on the world, and even our comedy appreciation is directly linked to how we perceive things around us. The theory is that all human beings experience the world according to four main psychological states: sensation, intuition, feeling and thinking.

Furthermore, one of these four is dominant in a person's life most of the time. The sixteen personality types are varying examples of introversion and extroversion creating eight dominant functions. So we have 16 variations in:. Let's start with the introverted side. ISTJs tend to be quiet, serious and practical with dependability being their strong suit.

ISFJs are quiet, friendly and responsible with more attention to how others feel. INFJs are organized and decisive, concerned with a connection in ideas, relationships and the motivations of others.

INTJs are creative thinkers and have high motivations for achieving goals and can organize projects well. ISTPs tend to be flexible, quiet and logical. ISFPs are quiet, sensitive and kind-hearted. INFPs are idealistic, loyal to their values and to a select few who are important personally to them.

INTPs are theoretical and abstract, more interested in ideas than social interactions with other people. Extroverted groups have a slightly different take. ESTPs are flexible and pragmatic, with a focus on problem-solving, not theories. ESFPs are outgoing, friendly and realistic in their interactions. ENFPs are enthusiastic and creative, with the ability to make connections between patterns and improvise quickly. ENTPs are quick thinking, outspoken about generating concepts, but bored by routine.

ESTJs are a matter of fact thinkers, organized, and focused on efficiency. ESFJs are warm, cooperative with others and seek harmony with a team. ENFJs are empathetic, responsive and attune to the emotions of others.Humor is about alleviating stress and anxiety.

It is about learning to laugh through difficulty. Humor helps us manage difficulties. Your personality type humor often comes from your inner child. While we take our second function very seriously, honing it for the bettering of the world, the third function gives you slack. T he third function plays a vital role in helping you balance yourself and provides relief. Something else that tends to be true is that introverts tend to have a more hidden humor.

Extroverts have a more explicit, quick, and high energy style humor. Introverts often set up jokes that others can deliver. Their jokes are less explicit and more hidden. But they boost and make everyone around them have a more good time.

Intuitives have a more nuanced, creative humor. Their jokes often go more meta, where sensors have a more crude and literal humor. They point out flaws and issues and illogical behavior. They act more cocky or self-assured than they actually are. INTJs are often perceived to have a highly sarcastic humor. Their humor often relies on acting tough or acting extremely assertive or confident in the most crazy of situations. Besides this, their humor often relies on physical action more than words.

They push buttons to see what happens, for comedic effect. They make fun of social customs and social traditions and pretend to completely lack swag and charisma. Or they put on so much excessive charisma it becomes funny in itself. They are witty salesmen — intentionally using the wrong line to sell an idea or an opinion. They pretend to represent the opposing sides views but express them in a parodical manner. ENFJs act more crude and wild than they actually are. They also act unusually passionate, putting on a facade of swag, goofiness.

They make things funnily awkward. They pretend to be extremely compulsive about their habits, rules and their routines.

And like the INTJ, their humor often relies on snarkiness. They may pretend to be more shy than they actually are. They may pretend to be insecure and too sensitive. They may act sarcastic and cynical like the INTJ. They may pretend to be more self-assured than they actually are, claiming belief in something totally illogical, or bringing up a funny flaw in their own behavior. Not a member yet?

Over the last year, sugar's effect on our health has been well documented in a constant stream of damning research. The sweet stuff is now food enemy number one and is to blame for far more than hyperactive children and tooth decay. Television presenter and fitness guru, Davina McCall is keen to get the nation talking about sugar and here she shares her realistic tips and personal journey to becoming sugar-freeAs of today, how long have you been sugar-free.

I had given up sugar for a couple of years previously, but then when I did my Sport Relief challenge I started eating it again. I was doing an awful lot of exercise and had to eat a lot of sugar in the form of liquid gels and carbohydrates - such as rice and pasta - to keep my energy up.

What was it that made you decide to give up sugar. When my sister got cancer, the nutritionist told me that she should give up sugar and I found that quite telling. I did some research and realised I was a slave to it. Stop eating it and you stop mood swings, bad skin and weight gain. Did it make you grumpy. I was more prepared this time round though, and have, for the most part, managed to taper off my sweet tooth. Sugar-free to me means a diet free of refined sugar - things like processed foods and white flours, rice and bread.

Has quitting sugar changed the way you think about food. I used to get stuck making the same 10 meals. Also, spelt or barley make delicious alternatives to risotto rice. What health benefits did you notice after giving up sugar. It definitely had an impact on my energy levels and my skin looks loads better. It took a while to get to that point but was worth the wait.
