I've set up a Google Sheets to compare one set of statistics against another. The statistics are for traffic vs. The actions only happen once a day and not every day whereas the traffic has more volume and happens every day.

What I want to show is a 2-line line chart with two axes so that I can run the two lines against one another. At the moment all I've been able to make is a chart with two lines, but both using the same axis.

This means that the action line always is sitting at either 0 or 1whereas the traffic line is going up to 30 but they are both drawn against the same axis so you can't really read the chart well to see a coloration. Recommended Answer. It took me a while but I finally figured it out. I knew there was a trick for date but didn't figure out that the two data columns were time or duration.

It has the same issue as date. For some reason, when the data is formatted as time or date, the min and max settings are not available. The trick is to change the format of the data to pure numbers. Go to the chart and set the min and max to the desired values, then change the data format back to whatever duration thing you had.

So if you wanted the min value of the chart to be 1 hour, you have to set it to 0.

And if you wanted 4 hours for the max, you would set 4 times 0. When you change the format back to duration, the scale will be 1 to 4. I'm throwing an arbitrary number of 6's in there before the final 7. Use your own judgement for how far you want to take it. It's a bit confusing. Hope it makes sense. By adding the format: '0' to the vAxis, it will display only whole numbers, so my labels become 0, 3, 5, 8, But obviously this is not ideal since 8 displays as being halfway between 5 and 10, which it isn't, because the number is actually 7.

And to do what you're asking would take a special bit of javascript to create an appropriate scale and number of gridlines to prevent breaking things down in to funky numbers.
